My First House

Being in Real Estate, when the time came for me to decide between Buying a House or Renting an Apartment, I decided to become a Homeowner.  I started by searching for houses that were in Foreclosure and quickly learned that only a handful of Realtors in the area were certified as Foreclosure Specialists (basically, there was a special key and only about 3 agents in the County had this key) so there I was, a Realtor who needed a Realtor. Not having many options to choose from, I chose the first agent I called who actually returned my call.  We saw several foreclosures, including a house that leaned.  There was clearly a problem with the foundation which was very noticeable by a 3ft slant on the 2nd floor.  If the window was open, I would have slid right down and fallen two stories.  When I mentioned this to my agent he stated with the straightest face "It's just a little tilt"!! I ended up buying a different house we saw that day.  It didn't lean.  I spent $79,000

Bill was a regular at the bank.  He noticed how miserable I was and constantly told me I was in the wrong profession.  One day Bill handed me his wife's card and told me she was expecting my call. I absolutely hated that job at the bank.  In preparation for Y2K (remember that!) the bank made all these changes to ensure that their computers would not crash.  The bank manager took this as her  opportunity to embezzle quite a bit of money and it didn't take long before the FBI showed up at my home questioning me and threatening to take me to jail... ON CHRISTMAS EVE!! I immediately made the call to Bill's wife, interviewed and the following week I became the Office Administrator for a
